Built around 1910, you’ll go back in time when you step foot in this newly restored Dogtrot Cottage. Sitting on top of a mountain in Shirley, this is one of the few dogtrots still standing in Arkansas. The house was originally designed with open-ended passage that runs through the center of a house, flanked by two enclosed living spaces. The living room has been restored to how it would have looked in the early 1900’s. Each room in the house is themed for a different decade. The home sits on 1 acre of land with plenty of room for parking cars, ATVs, boats, etc. Two screened in porches and a large covered front porch makes it ideal for outdoor enjoyment. For an additional $35 fee, you can have private access to our riverfront land on the Middle Fork of the Little Red River about a 3.5 mile drive from the house.
Inspired by the Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas, The Cosmo On College is a Posh & Stylish experience that is centrally-located in the historic district of Conway. This glamorous 3-bed/2 bath house has everything you need including central Heat & Air, Wi-Fi, covered front porch & a spacious fully fenced backyard with a deck. Our Airbnb is close to several popular restaurants as well as walking distance to CBC & UCA. It’s an ideal base to explore Conway & shop in our famous Downtown District.
Our grandfather Romie loved fishing on Lake Conway. So we designed this house with his memories in mind. Each room is decorated with a theme! Nostalgic kitchen brings you back in time at your grandparents farm house. Living room is decked out in all things fishing. Master bedroom themed with canoes in mind, the Legend of Lake Conway exists in the master bath, guest bedroom is ready for you to hibernate in. And there’s even an additional “indoor” outhouse. Relax on the covered back porch that overlooks the lake. Picnic table and glider bench make for great relaxation. Don’t forget wood for the firepit!
Mammaw’s Mountaintop is inspired by my grandmother. It’s super cozy, private, quiet, & the perfect get away. Located on 1.38 acres, this 3 bed/2 bath home is across the street from Petit Jean State Park and Lake Bailey. It’s also walking distance to the Outpost, Coffeehouse, & very close to Visitors Center, campgrounds, & Museum of Automobiles. Gnomes are hidden throughout the grounds & makes for a fun search for the whole family and deer frequent the property in the evenings.
Customer reviews for Romie’s Retreat and Mammaw’s Mountaintop
First and foremost—W-O-W. Emily’s hospitality was off the charts amazing and better than we have ever experienced at any AirBNB before, and we have traveled the world, so I hope... read more you (you, reading this review) know that’s saying a lot.
My wife and I evacuated from New Orleans for Hurricane Ida and decided to come up to one of our favorite places to camp—Mount Petit Jean. We originally only booked 3 nights, but upon finding out that southeast Louisiana was devastated by Ida, Emily made sure the rest of the week was available for us if we needed to extend our stay (we did!). The location was nearby so many beautiful sights, and the home itself was on a very peaceful lot. We even saw some deer!
Mammaw’s Mountaintop Retreat was clean, spacious (the bedroom may even be bigger than our master at home!), and perfectly accommodated. The washer and dryer certainly came in handy, the master shower was dreamy, and the kitchen was excellently equip and suited all our needs. And don’t even get me started on the porch—it was PERFECT for sitting outside in the rain. We also used the pit to grill veggies and the smoker to make some smoked turkey legs. Needless to say, we made sure to utilize absolutely everything offered. It was a true luxury to have all these amenities.
We also were only about 1 minute away from our favorite fudge spot in the world (The Outpost) where we got ice cream cones, fudge, and house-made turtles that are can-t-believe-it-good. It’s well stocked with other locally made goods and other outdoor-type gear that could come in handy.
We didn’t get a chance to visit the new Coffeehouse 2 lots down, which wasn’t there last time we were on Petit Jean, but it definitely looks nice, clean, and has a beautiful patio.
Overall, I couldn’t recommend any Airbnb we have ever stayed in more than I recommend this one.
